This video is a visual recap of a crossing carried out several months ago, during the initial operational phase of Neoliner Origin, a pioneering cargo vessel primarily powered by wind propulsion. At this stage of the project, the crew was learning how to operate and optimize the SolidSail wind propulsion system, sometimes in demanding conditions. The Mediterranean crossing, marked by unstable winds, represented an intense learning phase for the crew. Once in the Atlantic, conditions changed.
It is a different environment, and above all, the natural playground of Neoliner Origin, which was designed and engineered specifically for this ocean. Since then, the vessel has already completed two full rotations between Saint-Nazaire and Baltimore, via Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
This project is part of a long-term vision: to reinvent maritime transport, reduce its environmental footprint, and pave the way for a new generation of vessels capable of meeting the industrial and environmental challenges of tomorrow.
